1993
1994
- Formed Industrial Controls Group to serve industrial and municipal client base.
- Agreement with Rolls-Royce (then Allison Engine Co.) to jointly develop and commercialize magnetic bearings in gas turbine engines.
1999
- Recognized as a "Virginia Fantastic 50 Company" due to growth and profitability.
2000
- Opened 9,000 square foot facility in Roanoke County to accommodate growth.
2001
- Selected by Air Force to supply magnetic bearings for Advanced Turbine Engine Gas Generator (ATEGG).
2002
- Selected by Rolls-Royce UK to supply magnetic bearing for Trent 500 demonstration.
2003
- Selected by Rolls-Royce/Air Force to supply integral starter-generator (ISG) for advanced turbine engine.
- Synchrony commercializes product offering.
2004
- Selected by Aerojet to demonstrate magnetic bearings for rocket engine turbopumps.
2005
- Synchrony awarded development of integral starter-generator (ISG) for Rolls-Royce for cruise missile.
2006
- Synchrony expands manufacturing facility; Industrial Controls Group renamed Sunapsys and moves to separate facility.
- Synchrony adds precision metal fabrication to inhouse manufacturing capabilities.
- Awarded USAF contract for development of More Electric technologies for power and propulsion.
- Synchrony adds Series A investment.
- Synchrony awarded USAF contract.
- Synchrony announces new Fusion® Magnetic Bearings.
2007
- Synchrony acquires Series B financing.
- Synchrony moves into new, larger facility accommodating factory, R&D and executive offices.

- Synchrony receives Esteemed R&D 100 Award.
- Synchrony unveils new corporate brand strategy with new Web site.
- Synchrony earns ISO-9001:2008 certification.
