Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell recently visited Synchrony to learn more about our company, our products, and our customers. After a briefing with management, he toured our research and production facilities and had a chance to informally chat with employees before giving a public speech that was covered by the local media. I was impressed with his genuine interest in our company, as well as his quick understanding of the basic technology. In his public comments, he cited the broad applicability of our technology and his desire to see our company continue to grow. Other attendees included local government officials and executives from Daikin-McQuay and Dresser-Rand -- two of our valued partners.

Hasn't been a new blog here for 5 months now. Did the governor scare everyone away or is business slow....like non-existent? by Vince | November 26, 2010 | 5:02 pm We are interested in a possible low speed high torque input to a suitable permanent magnet alternator with wattage capabilities satisfying usage requirements of 1.,a home with a usage of 1000Kw hrs per month and a 2000 Kw peak demand, 2.,a unit that would satisfy a requirement ten times example 1. General cost of the stand alone units if ordered in quantity.
Thank you,
Joseph Seehorn by Joseph W Seehorn | September 27, 2010 | 12:07 pm Magnetic bearings are well-suited for flywheels because the bearings must operate reliably with little loss, and typically in a vacuum. The economics of using magnetic bearings for flywheels are dependent on a number of factors, including size, speed, and configuration. Recent advances at Synchrony in reducing the size, complexity, and cost of magnetic bearings have increased the range of applicability. We would be happy to discuss your particular application to see if we can offer you a practical solution. Please contact us. by Victor Iannello | August 31, 2010 | 11:41 am An active magnetic bearing expert with SKF told me that AMB is technically successful but commerically unsuccessful on flywheel energy storage application.
What is your idea about his opinon? I am interested in your product of magnetic bearing, and to see if we can use it in our application.
Thanks a lot!
