High Performance Magnetic Bearings

Active magnetic bearings like the Synchrony® Fusion® integrated magnetic bearing make it easier to incorporate magnetic bearings into induction motors, pumps, and blowers. This allows magnetic bearings to be used in a broader range of applications, which benefit from the clean, reliable, and efficient nature of magnetic bearings. Either Fusion® or NovaGlide™ magnetic bearings may be used in new designs or retrofit into existing machines.

Synchrony’s design innovations have made active magnetic bearings a viable alternative to conventional oil-lubricated bearings such as rolling element and oil-film bearings. For high-speed applications, the magnetic bearings improve efficiency and stability, while for low-speed applications, the magnetic bearings improve the reliability and eliminate oil lubricants.
