STAMFORD, Conn. and CHARLOTTE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Synchrony Financial (NYSE:SYF), a premier consumer financial services company with 80 years of retail heritage, formally dedicated today its relocation into a Class A office building to serve as its base in Charlotte, where the company has had a presence since 1979.
The move into the Ballantyne Corporate Park represents Synchrony Financial’s ongoing commitment to the City of Charlotte, its local retail partners and other clients served from the location.
The Charlotte location has almost 400 employees, with capacity to seat about 1,000 experienced and entry-level personnel working in a number of key business functions including: Sales, Marketing, Call Center Operations, Surveillance, Compliance, Risk, Finance, IT, Vendor Management, Supplier Risk, Business Continuity and Collections.

The new Charlotte site is a two-story building featuring 153,000 square feet, Class A office space in a corporate park with amenities that include ample parking, retail, dining, hotel, child care, wellness, parks and open space. The Synchrony Financial building is designated as a Fit-Friendly Worksite by the American Heart Association for featuring a fitness center, a cafeteria serving healthy meal options, walk-stations for employees to simultaneously work and exercise and recreation rooms equipped with physical activities.
The Charlotte site has been a positive contributor to the local community, with its employees volunteering more than 600 hours in 2014. Employees have participated in Junior Achievement's Biz Town and JA in a Day, baked cookies and made dinner for residents of the Ronald McDonald House, distributed gifts at Christmas through The Salvation Army, participated in events such as the AIDS Walk and Wreaths Across America, and collected more than 250 pounds of canned goods for the Second Harvest Food Drive.
